What’s the difference between back painted glass and silk screen printed glass?
Silk Screen Printed Glass is also named Ceramic Fritted Printed Glass.
Back Painted Glass is also named Lacquered Painted Glass.
Both silk screens printed glass and back printed glass is widely used in interior and exterior decoration, they have a similar appearance, especially when glass is full of silk screened, both opaque.
Silk screen glass cannot be cut after the tempering process.
Back painted glass can be cut, and process suit to suit the different requirements.
Application Difference
Silk screen glass is widely used in interior and exterior, such as barn door, shower door, table top glass, curtain wall, outdoor billboard, high-
speed rail glass.
Back painted glass is used in the interior, Kitchen, Splashback, Bathroom wall, cabinets, Wardrobe door, furniture.
Technology Features
Silk screen glass, use the ceramic inks will be melt and bond together with the glass after the tempering process.
The high temperature in tempering furnaces 680-720 degrees will guarantee the color won’t fade or fall from the glass surface.
Back painted glass, uses low-temperature inks, the heating process use only 150-220 degrees. The paint just bonds on the glass surface, so
the paint will fall if we scratch with sharp corners.
Price Difference
Silkscreen glass process includes cutting-polishing-silk screen-tempering, so its price is usually USD6-8/SQM higher than tempered glass.
Back painted glass doesn’t contain the tempering process, and the painting fees are lower than the silk screen process, so the price is much cheaper than silk screen glass.
